Jessica Jalbert recently revealed plans to expand her Faith Healer project into a full-band affair with news of an impending album titled Try ;-), and a fresh track called "Light of Loving." Now, the Edmonton-based outfit have unveiled another preview of the upcoming LP.
This time, we get to hear "Sterling Silver," which showcases a different recording process for Jalbert. After tracking was complete and new full-time bandmate Renny Wilson was already mixing the record, Jalbert decided the chorus needed an extra harmony — so at Wilson's suggestion, she recorded it from home.
"It's probably the first song I've done that doesn't primarily follow a guitar," Jalbert said in a statement. "It'll be interesting to perform without hiding behind a guitar."
She added, "People we've shown the song to keep pulling up Enya references, which definitely gets me psyched.
You can hear those echoing, Enya-esque vocals blend with shimmering synth sounds by giving "Sterling Silver" a spin in the player at the bottom of the page.
As previously reported, Try ;-) arrives on September 8 via Mint Records. Faith Healer have also just announced a run of upcoming shows, and you can see their full itinerary below.
