Exclaim!'s Staff Picks: illuminati hotties' "Truck" Is a Sugar-Sweet Road Song

My favourite illuminati hotties mode is freaky, when singer Sarah Tudzin cuts loose with unhinged yelps and skronky riffs. The new single "Truck" definitely isn't that, but it's so pretty that I love it anyway. It's a sugar-sweet acoustic rocker about cruising the Interstate 710 with a "doggy in the cab," the easygoing outlook of the lyrics reflected by Tudzin's perfectly fragile voice and gorgeous stacks of acoustic strums and electric crunch. Tudzin is known as much for her production work as her songwriting, so it's only natural that "Truck" sounds amazing, making it a very promising preview of IH's upcoming album.
