The best songs on this collection are the ones that feature the male/female vocal trade-offs that make this band sound like D4 in a street fight with Hole. In true DIY fashion everything here sounds like its holding on for dear life, with catchy but tentative guitar riffs ringing out over speedy, minimalist drumbeats and thumping bass. While occasionally stretching these tracks out a little too long (three minute crusty pop punk songs?), when things are short theyre pretty sweet. Tracks like "Mandolin Song are catchy and well structured underneath the rough production and musicianship, which only serve to add to their charm.
