Erykah Badu is looking to spread the love, and she's doing it with music. The past year or two have been marked by tragedy and social upheaval in the U.S., and the esteemed R&B star is attempting to offer a little positivity in the form of a new mix called FEEL BETTER, WORLD!
The mixtape is close to an hour and a half long, and it's made up of classic tracks that touch on R&B, funk and jazz. It offers a glimpse into Badu's world and the music that inspires her, and while it might not quite be "Sunshine, Lollipops and Rainbows" or "Walking on Sunshine" in terms of giddy joyfulness, it's nevertheless filled with healing, feel-good vibes. It includes material by Earth Wind & Fire, James Brown, Stevie Wonder and more, plus Badu's own "World Keeps Turnin."
Badu explained the mixtape with the following message:
