While Swedish death metal greats Entombed were reborn as Entombed AD for their Back to the Front comeback LP this past summer, the group's early days are being dug up for an upcoming reissue series through their own Threeman Recordings and SPV.
A PledgeMusic campaign began in 2013, with the act explaining that they had plans to repress 1997's DCLXVI: To Ride, Shoot Straight and Speak Truth, 1998's Same Difference and 2000's Uprising in double-disc CD editions and on vinyl. The crowd-sourcing project was successful and will be delivered early in 2015.
Initially scheduled to be delivered through Threeman Recordings, German company SPV recently attached itself to distributing the reissues.
"It's great to finally find a home for the Entombed back catalogue, and I know that with their many years of experience, SPV is the perfect partner to handle these historic albums and really do them justice," Threeman Recordings' Dave Thorne said in a statement. "The fans can expect nothing less than the highest quality from these and future releases!"
The double-disc CD sets will feature the original albums, with the second disc containing a series of demos, B-sides and live cuts. DCLXVI: To Ride, Shoot Straight and Speak Truth also comes with a digital bonus pack of Entombed covering the likes of the Dwarves, Bob Dylan and MC5. Each will also contain a 24-page booklet, including rare photos, liner notes and more. The vinyl versions arrive as double-LP sets on coloured wax.
