Endorphins

Where Evil Lives

BY Bill WhishPublished Feb 26, 2007

Four years removed from their last helping of original material, Endorphins return to serve up a very enjoyable metal delicacy. Where Evil Lives is the first full-length from the Toronto boys and the attention that this record should garner will hopefully get them back into the studio a little quicker. Fusing all kinds of sounds, such as the powerful vocal delivery of Michael Amaral that radiates Johan Liiva (Hearse, ex- Arch Enemy), the generous use of gang vocals from the rest of the band are a welcome and enjoyable addition. Amaral also contributes some cleaner sounding vocals, and the limited use of female singing fits surprising well within the overall scope of the record. Although the production on Where Evil Lives is a bit muddy, this hardworking Canadian metal band are definitely worth checking out.
