For all the music-tech marriages that have come and gone in recent years, hologram likenesses of beloved artists past (and recent present) have yet to go out of style. Now, the latest artist set to further be immortalized in ones and zeroes is none other than Elvis Presley.

Dubbed Elvis Evolution, the new performance show developed by "immersive experience" company Layered Reality will reportedly "recreate the seismic impact of seeing Elvis live for a whole new generation of fans, blurring the lines between reality and fantasy" with the power of "technology, augmented reality, theatre, projection and multi-sensory effects."

Premiering in London, UK, this November, the show features a "life-sized digital Elvis" performing his biggest hits and iconic stage moves, giving concertgoers the chance to "witness iconic Elvis performances as if you were really there, and celebrate defining moments in Elvis Presley's extraordinary life and career."

As Layered Reality CEO Andrew McGuinness shared with The London Evening Standard, the company brokered a deal with Elvis estate owners Authentic Brands Group to gain access to an archive of not only performance footage, but home movies, making for "an incredibly authentic version of Elvis in AI."

News of the AI Elvis follows Baz Luhrmann's 2022 biopic about the star, and Sofia Coppola's 2023 feature Priscilla. Layered Reality notes that following its London premiere this November, Elvis Evolution will travel to "multiple global cities."
