Much like the rest of us, today marks a celebration of two things: ringing in 2021 and waving an emphatic au revoir to a serious dumpster fire of a year. Elvis Costello is saying goodbye to 2020 in his own way, with a new single titled "Farewell, OK."
"Farewell, okay / You'll be on your way / You'll be on your own," he sings at the top of the track. The song is Costello's latest in a string of releases this year, following the artist's Hey Clockface (whose artwork was honoured as one of Exclaim!'s Worst Album Covers of 2020). That record arrived back in October through Concord.
