Earlier this year, self-proclaimed death country musicians Elliott Brood released the new track "Northern Air," following that up with the news that they would be joining forces with Paper Bag Records for their next LP, Days Into Years. The Toronto band are now just a week away from officially unveiling that new label debut on September 27, but you can check out the entire album now on Exclaim.ca.
Marking Elliott Brood's first new record since the 2008 Polaris Music Prize-nominated effort Mountain Meadows, Days Into Years is loaded with inspiration. Influenced by an encounter with the beautiful coastal landscapes and rich historical sites of France and Belgium during a 2007 tour, the album draws from the band's collective experience in Europe.
Despite the European inspiration, Elliott Brood maintain their sense of Canadiana on tracks like "West End Sky," "Owen Sound" and the aforementioned "Northern Air."
As previously reported, the band will be touring Canada in support of Days Into Years with fellow Torontonians One Hundred Dollars this fall.
