Elephant Stone Hit the Road for North American Tour
Published Nov 08, 2010Montreal psych pop quintet Elephant Stone have had a big year. In May, the purveyors of jangly, George Harrison-inspired pop released their follow-up to 2009's Polaris Music Prize-nominated Seven Seas via the seven-track collection The Glass Box EP. This was soon followed by a North American tour with the infamous Brian Jonestown Massacre and a trek over the Atlantic to tour Europe. But the year isn't over yet, and Elephant Stone have announced another string of North American dates
The tour kicks off in Toronto on Tuesday (November 9) and finds the band dipping down below the border for a handful of U.S. shows before returning to Canada for stops in Windsor, ON and Montreal.
If you've yet to check out The Glass Box EP, its psychedelic pop music was heavily influenced by founding member Rishi Dhir's studies of Indian classical music and self-proclaimed obsessive search for "the perfect pop song." The result is a well-polished collection of what Elephant Stone describe as "hindi-rock gems," which you can still listen to in its entirety in our Click Hear department here.
