Spring is officially upon us. You know what that means: it's time to dance in the new season with Edmonton's Downtown Defrost electronic music festival — back and better than ever in 2023.
The end-of-winter celebration takes place April 7 and 8 at Louise McKinney Riverfront Park from 2 to 10 p.m., with nightly afterparties at the historic Starlite Room from 10 p.m. until 2 a.m.
Downtown Defrost's forward-thinking lineup of international headliners for 2023 includes performances from Tiga, Machinedrum, Justin Martin, Dane, Mary Droppinz, Inner City and Cody Currie, as well as sets from all your favourites in the local Edmonton scene: Joluca, Dunmore Park, Sooo WET, ceeevs, Better Living DJs, Trevor Oslo, Malcs, Viet, Derv, Haha, Yelrihs, Future Spice, Work Party, Joses, Will Hempfree and Polyesterday.
This all-ages event (children twelve and under get in free) is sure to be one of the most talked-about of the year, with grander-scale production, a new location and a heated tent.
Tickets are on sale now, with weekend and day passes available. Afterparty tickets are sold separately.
