Duran Duran have already unveiled a handful of tracks from their album Paper Gods, and now they've shared another one: "What Are the Chances."
The song is a soaring new wave anthem with earnest, evocative lyrics like "a diamond explodes / What are the chances?" The electronic arrangement swells with orchestral textures, and the epic sonic style is reinforced by lead guitar wailing from former Red Hot Chili Peppers member John Frusciante.
Take a listen below. The audio is accompanied by a visualizer in which the images from the Paper Gods album cover shrivel up.
Paper Gods will land on September 11 internationally and on September 18 in North America through Warner Bros. Records. It was produced by Mark Ronson features appearances from Janelle Monáe, Chic's Nile Rodgers, Kiesza and Lindsay Lohan.
