A new in-concert app will let fans decide whether Drake or Lil Wayne is the better battler. And we're not talking rhyming skills, we mean a full-on fight, at least under the guise of a Street Fighter-style set of graphics pitting the Young Money pair against each other.
Just ahead of the rappers' "Drake vs. Lil Wayne" tour kickoff in Darien Center, NY, tomorrow (August 8), videogame maker and tour co-sponsor Capcom has launched a tour-themed app via Google Android and Apple iOS that will let fans play as either Lil Wayne or Drake during an in-concert, on-screen battle.
Lil Wayne appears as "The Sage," while our man Aubrey dusts knuckles as "The Protégé," while BIllboard reports that fans' button-mashing techniques will be used to "help their favourite rapper 'power up' and impact their performances in real time."
"We are both thrilled that our fans will get the unique opportunity to join us in this interactive experience," Drizzy and Weezy said in a joint statement.
Sadly, the 31-date trip is entirely beneath the U.S. border, so unless you're heading on a road trip, you may never know how either hip-hop icon handles a hadouken punch or deliver a sonic boom, at least on-screen.
