"Insurmountable differences" is the reason being given for this latest titbit on the current situation of power metal shredders Dragonforce.
An official press release by their current label Roadrunner Records states that longtime singer ZP Theart has officially parted ways with the band because of diverging opinions. Most would say "irreconcilable," but the band have agreed on "insurmountable," which sounds far more catastrophic.
No word has been given on whether Theart quit or has been let go, but given that the band are first to comment, many will speculate on the latter. Their authorized statement reads thusly:
"It is with great regret that Dragonforce announce a parting of the ways with singer ZP Theart. This is due to insurmountable differences of musical opinion, but the rest of the band sincerely wishes ZP great success with his future projects."
The band have also added that they will be opening up their search for his replacement worldwide, hoping to find a front-preson by the time writing of their upcoming fifth full-length is complete.
"We are looking for a powerful, melodic singer to write a new chapter of Dragonforce with us," says guitarist Herman Li, adding that hopefuls should apply for instructions here.
