Outside of his work with Sonic Youth, guitarist Lee Ranaldo has developed quite the reputation for improvisation and collaboration. Some of his work exists as one-off live performances, while others see the light of day. Luckily, a collaboration with experimental legends Jim O'Rourke and Christoph Heemann will be one those works that gets a wider audience.

Courtesy of Streamline/Drag City, the release will feature two 17-minute-plus tracks called "Bloomington, Indiana" and "Autumn." According to a press release, "Bloomington, Indiana" was recorded in May of 1994, and features Ranaldo's spoken word "for a text-based collaborative composition that turns into an electroacoustic exploration." Meanwhile, "Autumn" comes from a Heemann and O'Rourke collaboration called Plastic Palace People.

"Bloomington, Indiana" and "Autumn" will be released on a twelve-inch LP on April 20. The record is currently available for pre-order here.
