Get ready all you '90s-loving Canrock fans: long-lost Canadian alt-rockers Doughboys are getting set to make their return next month when they open for Foo Fighters and Fucked Up at a pair of Canadian shows. But before that brief outing begins, they will play a free show in Toronto.
The "secret" show will take place on August 8 at Toronto's Bovine Sex Club. This means that Torontonians will be able to rock out to Wedge anthem "Shine" in the intimacy of a nightclub before going to see them in the Air Canada Centre the next day. Raise your hand if you're even more excited about this than you were about last year's Lowest of the Low reunion.
This will mark Doughboys' return after more than a decade apart. Their last official album was 1996's Turn Me On. In 2003, they reissued their La Majeure 1987 demo. Unfortunately, the reunion won't include "Shine" co-writer Wiz, who died in 2006.
Tour dates:
8/8 Toronto, ON - Bovine Sex Club
8/9 Toronto, ON - Air Canada Center *
8/10 Montreal, QC - Bell Center *
* with Foo Fighters, Fucked Up
