Huge fans of Jenny Omnichord, Toronto's Dog is Blue recently took a shot at covering her song "Blankets and Bones," included on the band's upcoming covers EP.
Originally released on Omnichord's 2008 Pregnancy EP, which she recorded while carrying her son Otis, the song is given a slight sonic shift by Dog is Blue. It had a lo-fi sophistication in its composer's hands, while Dog is Blue render it more boldly, with a flavour that tastes like Bill Callahan. It's a weird song by any standard, but Dog is Blue do it justice.
