Published Nov 14, 2012Since releasing A Thing Called Divine Fits this past summer, Divine Fits have been riding high on the album's groove-laden, hook-laden indie rock and a kick-ass live show that recently yielded an excellent cover of Frank Ocean's "Lost." On October 29, at the band's show in Atlanta, Deerhunter/Atlas Sound man Bradford Cox popped up onstage for a cover of the Ramones' "53rd & 3rd."
The result is a pretty high-energy performance of the song, which, given that Hurricane Sandy was in progress, was dedicated by Cox to the people of New York City. "53rd and 3rd is probably underwater right now," he says in the video.
