Connecticut favourites the Distances latest record starts off on a Comeback Kid-esque trip with chanting vocals and hardcore-influenced guitar riffs. However, the second song takes an interesting turn down Good Charlotte lane. With cheesy guitar effects, horrible pseudo pop melodies and a guest appearance by none other than the Useds Bert McCraken, The Rise, the Fall and Everything In Between cant seem to make up its mind whether its a fast melodic hardcore or uninspired poppy screamo. Despite the albums inconsistencies, the heavier songs still merit a listen and have the potential to be exciting live.
