To the dismay of people who are scared of clowns (and to the delight of indie rock fans), the latest album from Dinosaur Bones has arrived. Shaky Dream officially drops on August 6 through Dine Alone Records, and it's available to stream before then at Exclaim.ca.
The 10-song collection was produced by studio guru John Congleton (St. Vincent, David Byrne, the Walkmen). A press release notes that the songs are "thematically steeped in self-reflection, yearning for honest communication and filled with a blend of dark pop, bombastic hooks, and flourishing rhythmic drone."
The band's sound encompasses with moody atmospherics and shadowy pop-rock, and they embrace distorted guitar lines on "Sleepsick," slinky grooves on "Spins in Circles," and keyboard-driven minimalism on "Pacifist in Camouflage."
