After months of hype, Toronto pop sensation Diamond Rings is finally ready to drop the follow up to 2010's Special Affections. The 10-song Free Dimensional drops on October 23 in Canada through Secret City Records, and you can now stream the entire thing in advance of its official release.
The collection offers more of the fun (yet intimately personal) sounds that have earned songwriter John O'Regan such a widespread following in the last couple of years. The electronic textures are more lush and expansive this time around, presumably thanks in part to co-producer Damian Taylor (Björk, Austra). "Runaway Love" evokes the gritty guitars that marked the singer's past work, but, for the most part, the emphasis throughout is on sparkling synth bangers.
