If you've got an uncontrollable urge to fill out your Devo collection, we have some good news for all you spudboys and girls out there. After having toured their archives-scouring Hardcore earlier in the year, the men that make the music will be giving even more vintage material a revisit via the unveiling of a live LP captured back in 1977.
Dubbed Miracle Witness Hour, the live recording lands November 17 through Futurismo. According to a press release, the concert was held at Cleveland dive bar the Eagle Street Saloon and took place before the band would team up with producer Brian Eno to put together their landmark debut LP Q: Are We Not Men? A: We Are Devo! The live album is also said to present "a rare glimpse into the embryonic stages of the groundbreaking band way before the masses knew how to 'whip-it good."
This will be the first time the recordings have been released commercially. While a tracklisting has yet to be drawn up in full, the press release confirms it includes early versions of "Jocko Homo" and "Mongoloid." Down below, you'll find a stream of sexual anxiety anthem "Uncontrollable Urge."
Miracle Witness Hour also included liner notes from founder Gerald Casale and will pop up on CD and three to-be-detailed coloured vinyl variations. That's the cover art up above.
Thanks to FACT for the tip.
