Depeche Mode Announce 'Live in Berlin' Concert Album and Film

BY Josiah HughesPublished Oct 8, 2014

Long-running synth pop greats Depeche Mode spent much of last year on tour for their Delta Machine LP. That included a two-night stand in Berlin, which will now be celebrated with a concert film and album.

Simply called Live in Berlin, the release offers two CDs of audio from the sets, along with a DVD featuring the concert on film. It was directed by famed filmmaker and frequent Depeche Mode collaborator Anton Corbijn.

In addition to the standard edition of Live in Berlin, the album and film will also be included in a special deluxe package. This features a Blu-ray audio rerelease of Delta Machine and Alive in Berlin, an additional supplemental film from Corbijn.

In a press release, Corbijn said, "Alive in Berlin is a record of Depeche Mode visiting Berlin for two concerts and the impact it has on fans following the band. Berlin has a special place in the hearts of Depeche Mode. Likewise, Depeche Mode has a strong following in the German capital and the film tries to capture the highlights of these concerts as well as that special connection through interviews with fans and bands alike."

The deluxe addition of Live in Berlin will also include an acoustic session filmed on location at the famed brothel Salon Bel Ami, as well as a 16-page booklet.

Live in Berlin will arrive on November 17 via Columbia. The tracklisting or the live album is available below.
