Death Ray Vision really don't care if they seem cheesy. Case and point is their moniker and debut full-length title: We Ain't Leavin' Till You're Bleedin'. This unabashed attitude is beneficial, as they reach into the vaults of hardcore to craft their sound. In the process, they eschew the styles of their main acts (Killswitch Engage, Shadows Fall), or so was the plan. It was relatively successful on their debut EP, Get Lost or Get Dead, but now the pseudo-Overcast reunion have slipped slightly into the waters of their breadwinners. There are certainly hardcore overtones on their latest, but Death Ray Vision, at times, sound slightly lazy in differentiating themselves. Their successes are best found at either end of the spectrum: when fully embracing hardcore or doing something more metal, but different than their main projects, such as "A Forest [of Kegs]." Similar to a B-movie, Bleedin' is fun at first, but hard to get all the way through.
