Deafheaven Announce LP Plans for 2015

Though the details are slim, contemporary black metal unit Deafheaven have officially revealed plans to deliver their third full-length album sometime next year.

The news was delivered today (October 23) over Twitter, where the group posted the following simplified message: "LP3 2015." That's all the info that's been shared so far, with no tracklisting, street date or artwork reveals having been made thus far.

Since Deafheaven spent portions of the year out on tour in support of last year's breakthrough sophomore release, Sunbather, there hasn't been much new music coming out of the outfit of late. They did, however, offer up the "From the Kettle Onto the Coil" single for free via the Adult Swim Singles Program.

Recent interviews with the band suggested that they would be wrapping up their tour schedule before properly jumping into writing sessions for the as-yet-unnamed LP. Though founders George Clarke and Kerry McCoy wrote Sunbather as a two-piece, Clarke told CityPages this summer that the next batch of tunes will be worked on by the group's current five-piece incarnation, which adds drummer Daniel Tracy, bassist Stephen Clark and guitarist Shiv Mehra. "I'm looking forward to writing with everyone," Clarke noted.

Tour dates:

11/07-09 Austin, TX - Fun Fun Fun Festival
