Tokyo Police Club's Dave Monks is going solo for an EP this month, and with All Signs Point to Yes due out on June 16 through Dine Alone Records, the songwriter has rolled out a new track called "The Rules."
The song begins down as a stripped-down ballad consisting of only piano and voice. It's a bittersweet lament, but energy lifts as the arrangement progresses, as Monks is accompanied by lush string orchestrations and bouncy drums.
