Das Racist Call It Quits

After two well-received mixtapes and last year's Relax LP, New York rap crew Das Racist have thrown in the towel.

The news came onstage at Munich's On3 Festival, where the band were scheduled to perform. Instead, Pitchfork reported that Himanshu "Heems" Suri hit the stage alone, saying, "You guys wanna know the secret? Alright, so I'm going to do some Das Racist songs, but Das Racist is breaking up and we're not a band anymore."

The band's own Kool A.D. followed up that quote by confirming the split on his Twitter, saying, "for the record i quit das racist 2 months ago and was asked by our manager not to announce it yet. apparently @himanshu wanted to do it tho."

Stay tuned for more news on the split as it becomes available. Check out the band's video for "Girl" below.
