Producing the sophomore effort of British pop oddities The Shortwave Set has led to some intriguing musical partnerships for notorious workaholic Danger Mouse. Legendary Beach Boys collaborator Van Dyke Parks has lent his string arranging and orchestration skills to the album, titled Replica Sun Machine and famed avant-garde composer John Cale of the Velvet Underground reportedly contributes some of his unique viola playing. Danger Mouse has called the self described "Victorian Funk" act his favorite contemporary group and has had the eclectic three-piece open for Gnarls Barkley on tour.

Replica Sun Machine was recorded in Los Angeles and is scheduled to come out on April 28 via UK label Wall of Sound.

Meanwhile, Danger Mouse and partner Cee-Lo are currently awaiting the release of their second album, The Odd Couple, the follow-up to 2006's multi-platinum debut St. Elsewhere. The album will hit shops on April 8.
