Never one to rest on his laurels, Toronto hip-hop mainstay D-Sisive has followed up a string of recent singles like "6-Inch God" and "Fat Cage" with a new full-length album — well, kind of new.
The rapper has dropped the cover album we didn't know we needed — a reworking of Vanilla Ice's 1990 debut LP To the Extreme. While a few of the original's tracks didn't make the cut, it's otherwise a fairly faithful take on the album that will definitely send listeners on a trip down memory lane.
In a statement about the inspiration behind the new release, D-Sisive said:
"In my mind I was on stage at Maple Leaf Gardens where I saw a Vanilla Ice concert with my mom, and thought, 'Maybe I can do that?' 20 years later... Yeah, I can do that."
