Cynic's 1993 debut Focus, a landmark progressive metal release, celebrates its 30th anniversary this September, and along with details of a forthcoming remixed reissue, the Paul Masvidal-led group have shared North American tour plans alongside Atheist.
This June and July, the pair of Floridian prog powers will play 25 dates on the continent as part of the co-headlining Focus and Presence Tour. Four Canadian shows are set for Vancouver, Toronto, Quebec City and Montreal, and you can find them in the itinerary below.
On the trek, Cynic will play Focus in its entirety to mark the 30th anniversary milestone, while Atheist's set will be constructed of material from their first three celebrated albums: 1990's Piece of Time, 1991's Unquestionable Presence, and 1993's Elements.
The shows will also see Cynic pay tribute to late, longtime members Sean Reinert and Sean Malone, both of whom passed away in 2020.
Earlier this week, Cynic also shared details of their reissue of Focus. Titled ReFocus, the LP was entirely remixed by Warren Riker and arrives June 9 via Season of Mist.
ReFocus is now available for pre-order, and below, you can hear the remixed version of opener "Veil of Maya" set to performance footage from a forthcoming Focus documentary.
