While Canadian cuddlecore greats Cub broke up decades ago, the group's Lisa Marr is taking a look back at her old band with a new covers release, but she's not doing it alone. On the new record, she's enlisted Vancouver's Tranzmitors to help her take on some classic Cub songs, as well as one by Seattle punks Fastbacks.
Via Top Drawer Records, Lisa Marr and the Tranzmitors will release a new four-song 7-inch in January. It will arrive digitally on January 11 and IRL that same day at the Seattle Pop Punk Festival, with the physical 7-inch shipping out on or around January 15.
The release finds the musicians kicking things off with a rendition of Fastbacks' "In the Summer," followed by covers of Cub's "Magic 8 Ball" and "Pretty Pictures." They then cap things off with a new original called "Salvation."
