Converge

"Wolves at My Door"

BY Gregory AdamsPublished Sep 18, 2012

Converge fans have no doubt been freaking out since the beloved band announced their upcoming All We Love We Leave Behind. There's still about a few weeks before the album drops October 9 via Epitaph/Deathwish Inc., so the iconic Massachusetts hardcore crew have now given completists something else to savour until the LP's street date. Namely, an old song called "Wolves at My Door," which was previously only available on the Japanese version of 2004's You Fail Me.

The song fits the time period, with guitarist Kurt Ballou's lacerating guitar lines occasionally sporting the dark jangle that filled You Fail Me, and vocalist Jacob Bannon opting to use his tortured sing-speak instead of full-force, blood-curdling cries. The track sports a viciously melodic extended mosh outro, and you can stream it down below or buy it on Converge's Bandcamp page.
