Comeback Kid barely skipped a beat when original vocalist Scott Wade left the band and guitarist/lyricist Andrew Neufeld stepped in to fill the void. Neufeld does an admirable job replicating the distinct vocals of the former front-man but sometimes falls short of the level of intensity found in their previous work. The most rewarding aspect of this record comes after sifting through the punishing rhythm section and in-your-face vocals to find the intricate and sometimes intriguing melodies buried beneath, no doubt the work of producer Bill Stevenson. The band continue to make use of gang backup vocals on this record, effectively recreating the sound of a couple hundred kids singing along in a dark, sweaty club. This sounds like a very cathartic effort for Comeback Kid and it comes across on every song. Broadcasting... will have you pointing your finger in the air while banging your head along.
