Burly Kentucky-bred hardcore/metal crossover outfit Coliseum may have already released a Misfits-saluting split seven-inch with Superchunk and a live record in 2011, but the band will bash your brains in with another set of wreckers by year's end.
A press release explains that the upcoming Parasites EP finds the outfit "defying expectations and showcasing some of their most infectious anti-anthems and blazing hardcore tirades to date."
The companion piece to 2010's polarizing and exploratory House with a Curse collects eight unreleased songs, most of which were recorded by J. Robbins (Jawbox, Burning Airlines) at Inner Ear Studios in Washington, DC. A few songs, however, were left over from the House with a Curse sessions. The artwork, which you can see above, was designed by Hot Snakes/Obits member Rick Froberg.
Parasites comes out on November 15 via Temporary Residence. You can check both the studio version and a live performance of full-throttle riff-rocker "Waiting (Too Late)" down below.
The band will also be heading out on tour this fall, with one Canadian stop scheduled at Toronto's Not Dead Yet Festival on October 21. Check the details below.
