Coldplay have been calling their own bluff on their self-inflicted retirement rumours lately. Not only are they finally coming to Canada for their Music of the Spheres tour, but the soft rock lifers will also be the musical guests on an upcoming episode of Saturday Night Live.
Airing February 4, the episode will be hosted by actor Pedro Pascal. Known for his roles in Game of Thrones and The Last of Us, it will be a fitting reunion with him and Coldplay drummer Will Champion — who once cameoed in the former series. It will be the band's first SNL performance since 2019.
Don't expect Coldplay to play "Clocks" on their episode though — Champion doesn't even consider it a song.
Last week, Aubrey Plaza hosted SNL, with Sam Smith providing the music. This weekend, Lil Baby will be the musical guest while Michael B. Jordan hosts.
Yawn all you want, but Nick Cave will probably tune in.
