Parlophone Records has been teasing a newly signed act called Los Unidades with cryptic tweets and photos, but Coldplay fans think that the pixelated images look rather familiar.
The label (which is home to Coldplay, as well) shared a doctored photo of four blurry silhouettes, and following some diligent sleuthing by fans, it appears that those four guys might just be Chris Martin, Jon Buckland, Guy Berryman and Will Champion.
UPDATE (11/27, 12 p.m. EST): Parlophone has announced a Global Citizen EP called Global Citizen EP 1, which will feature Coldplay acting as Los Unidades and arrive on Friday (November 30). Los Unidades/Coldplay's EP contribution is a song called "E-Lo," which features Pharrell and Jozzy. Right now, you can stream "E-Lo" below, where you'll also find the EP's tracklist. In addition to the Los Unidades song, the EP also features contributions from Stormzy, David Guetta, Stargate, Cassper Nyovest, Wizkid, Tiwa Savage and more.
Keen eyes will notice text in the bottom righthand corner of the Los Unidades image that is an anagram of "COLDPLAY2018."
Additionally, Coldplay fansite @ColdplayXtra dug up the trademark records for Los Unidades, and it turns out the company is registered to owners Chris Martin, Jon Buckland, Guy Berryman and Will Champion.
As for the "goods and services" attributed to the trademarked name, they include film and video, audio recordings, posters, stickers and photographs "in the field of music, art and entertainment."
An additional announcement about Los Unidades is expected later today at 5 p.m. U.K. time.
Coldplay's last record arrived in 2015 with A Head Full of Dreams. They followed that up with a companion EP and concert film.
