Tomorrow night (July 22), Cold Cave have a Brooklyn show with Throbbing Gristle/Psychic TV's Genesis Breyer P-Orridge and Black Rain. To celebrate the occasion, the three acts are teaming up for a collaborative three-song tape called Rebellion Is Over via Heartworm Press. As a preview, they've released the song "Comprehension" from this short EP.
The song is a fairly mellow electronic piece, as a minimal drum machine groove is overlaid with soft-focus synth twinkles and new wave-style pads. It's part spooky, part spa-worthy beauty.
Pitchfork reports that Rebellion Is Over will be released on vinyl at some point in the future, but it will initially only be available at the aforementioned Brooklyn gig. The show is taking place at the Wick.
