Canadian hardcore fans will be delighted to hear the latest EP from Ontario's own Cold Blue Sky. Echo of the Assassin is a solid six-song experience with intelligently arranged guitar, gut wrenching vocals and introspective lyrics. "Holding the Shadows" has the melodic yet chaotic feeling of some of At The Drive-In's best tunes, yet "Simple Things" is a Hot Water Music-esque rock out with emotionally-charged lyrics. Sweet yet severe, heavy but melodic, Cold Blue Sky have managed to successfully combine punk rock and hardcore to create a sound of their own, one worthy of countless listens.
