The concentrated, Jimmy Fallon and Paris Hilton-backed effort to convince everyone that NFTs are something we should care about continues today, as Coachella has announced the Coachella Keys Collection, a group of 10 NFTs that grant the holder a lifetime pass to the festival.
The 10 NFTs in question — which allow buyers to redeem two festival passes yearly — will be auctioned off on Coachella's "environmentally friendly marketplace," created in partnership with FTX US and hosted on Solana.
In addition to the lifetime pass NFTs, Coachella will sell Coachella Collectibles, a group of 1,000 NFTs available for $180 USD that buyers can use to redeem a physical Coachella photo book. There will also be 10,000 NFTs of "fan-favourite festival photos and never before heard soundscapes" available for $60 USD.
According to Coachella, the festival will donate a portion of NFT sales to GiveDirectly, Lideres Campesinas, and Find Food Bank. So that's nice at least!
If any of that sounds cool and/or makes sense to you, godspeed. You can head to Coachella's website to learn more.
