If ever a reminder was need that Canadian hip-hop luminary K-os remains one of this countries biggest draws in his respective genre, the capacity Opera House crowd definitely brought things into focus. With a nonchalant cool honed through years on the scene, the cross-pollinating MC ripped through cuts and references spanning not only his own career but his myriad influences, melding the Dears' "White's Only Party" with "Crabbuckit," lighting off "Heaven Only Knows" with "Stairway to Heaven" and inviting both Bono and Bowie over on "Sunday Morning." After calling Big Sauks in for their "Natalie Portman" show-stopper, K-os sent the sweaty room off with one final gift in his Journey-fuelled "Man I Used to Be," making for one satisfying night from the hometown hero.
