Following some speculation yesterday (January 6) that Virginia-bred rap duo the Clipse were back in the studio together, the group's Pusha T has confirmed that an album is indeed in the works.
Last night, Pusha T confirmed over Facebook that he and his brother No Malice are "working on a new album," backing up the Karen Civil blog's report earlier that day. The site noted that the pair were in the studio working on tracks with production squad the Neptunes (a.k.a. Pharrell Williams and Chad Hugo).
Though few details have been shared beyond that, the upcoming project will be the first for the classic coke rappers since 2009's Til the Casket Drops. Since then, the pair have worked separately, with Pusha T most recently delivering his acclaimed My Name Is My Name and No Malice serving up his solo debut, Hear Ye Him.
As previously reported, Pusha T is also apparently in the midst of producing another solo effort tentatively titled King Push, which also has the Neptunes behind the boards. The sessions for the album began late last week. Apparently there's a bit of crossover during the sessions.
"I don't know when I'm dropping the next one, but I can tell everybody, January 2, me, Pharrell [Williams] and Chad [Hugo] are going in the studio for 20 days," the rapper had previously told a crowd at New York's SoHo Apple Store.
Pusha T also has solo dates coming up at the end of the month, including stops a few Canadian stops, before linking up with 2 Chainz for a U.S. trek. You'll find the concert details down below.
