Toronto fans of post-hardcore, emo and, if you're still using this word, skramz, take note — this summer, you'll be making plenty of new friends. That will come thanks to the New Friends Fest, a DIY music fest that will run from August 2 to 4 at the Tranzac.
The festival will be top-billed by Virginia post-hardcore groups City of Caterpillar and Majority Rule, both of which have not performed in Canada for 15 years.
The bill will be rounded out with appearances from Lord Snow, Gillian Carter, Respire, Ostraca, Massa Nera, Au Revoir, Frail Hands, Carrion Spring, Eyelet, Fluoride, Foxtails, Dianacrawls, Terry Green, Digest, Pique, Supine, Obroa-Skai, Thisishowitendedintokyo, Amitié and Karloff.
As if that weren't enough, the fest will be prefaced by a show on July 30 that features Loma Prieta, Jeromes Dream, Piper Maru and Stay Down.
