Amid constantly having to debunk misogynistic industry plant accusations and admittedly feeling overwhelmed by the speed at which she finds herself in the continued ascent of her skyrocket to pop stardom, Chappell Roan has one thing to turn to for comfort: Feist's 2004 album Let It Die.

In a newly circulating TikTok clip of an interview on the Popdust podcast It's Real with Jordan and Demi, Roan was asked what she was listening to at the moment and professed her undying love for Feist's sophomore record, which she keeps in regular rotation.

"I think I listen to Feist's Let It Die album once a week — honestly, for the past two years," she said. "It's just like, my favourite comfort album."

Otherwise, Roan cited having Hemlocke Springs, Grimes and LCD Soundsystem on her playlist, adding that she's "in the indie electronic vibe right now."

Another notable proponent of Let It Die is Carly Rae Jepsen, who put it forward as her favourite album of the past quarter-century in a 2021 Pitchfork retrospective. "I'm still in awe of how skillfully she set out to make an album of songs that flow together so effortlessly as if they always belonged together," Jepsen reflected. "From playful and sexy to serene and introspective, she embodies it all. As a young woman, I felt empowered seeing that we could be all things at once."
