Vancouver retro-pop players Chains of Love still haven't let us know when they'll be issuing their sophomore LP Misery Makers, but the band will at least be showcasing some of those new tunes on an upcoming North American tour.
While the outfit have slowly been unveiling shows over the last few weeks, including appearances at Sled Island and NXNE, Chains of Love formally announced their spring trip today (May 16) on Facebook. The tour kicks off in Calgary and will have them hitting up both sides of the border, linking up with acts like the Detroit Cobras and the Ketamines along the way. You can scope out the details down below.
As previously reported, Chains of Love apparently broadened their horizons from their '60s soul-minded debut Strange Grey Days, adding horns, strings and even shades of country to the template.
"We've expanded our landscape," singer Nathalia Pizarro had previously told Exclaim! "Sonically it's a lot different than Strange Grey Days. It's got a rounder sound, if I may say. We wanted to experiment with something a bit more accessible, and a bit more pop, but it still has some dirt to it."
You can sample the band's fuzzy psych-pop rave-up "Follow Me" in the tripped-out video clip down below.
