Casualties

On the Front Line

BY Sam SutherlandPublished Oct 1, 2004

The Casualties have always been and always will be more punk rock than your sorry ass. While they sometimes verge on becoming gutter punk caricatures of their mohawked and liberty-spiked selves, On the Front Line proves that the band are still at the top of their game. The undisputed masters of their filthy domain, this record is little more than another instalment in what will surely be a mighty legacy of sonic sameness. Not that this is a bad thing; the last thing anyone wants from the Casualties is a journey into the uncharted waters of acoustic balladry or electronic beats. They are who they are, and they play what they play, probably better than any gutter punk band today. And now, the squeegee kids in your town have a new reason to riot.
