Roots and country fans will no doubt be going flat-out bonkers next month when Neko Case, k.d. lang and Laura Veirs deliver their debut collection as case/lang/veirs. Before the record arrives in full, they've revealed a piece titled, appropriately, "Delirium."
While the band last offered up a lang-sung piece of sweetness called "Honey and Smoke," it's Case that handles the lead vocal on this newest preview. Above a dusty bustle of drums and twanged guitar licks, the singer delivers lines about imagined kisses, kaleidoscopic mind states, and the feeling of heartbreak.
Grand, elegant, and featuring one heck of a wriggly organ solo, "Delirium" can be experienced below. The trio's case/lang/veirs hits stores June 17 via Anti- and will be supported by a summer tour.
