"Honey and Smoke"

BY Gregory AdamsPublished Apr 19, 2016

We're still two months off from the release of Neko Case, k.d. lang and Laura Veirs's debut collaborative collection, but the stunning folk force have offered up another preview from the set. This time, you can get behind the gently swayed and gorgeous sounds of "Honey and Smoke."

The latest track to stream from case/lang/veirs features lang taking lead vocals, though the narrative finds her off in the distance as she watches an adored one being doted on by, apparently, less worthy folks.

"I watched as he poured honey in your ear," she sings, adding, "They don't really love you like I do."

The piece has Case and Veirs adding backups over the smooth swing of guitar, vibes and organ. You'll find it streaming below.

As previously reported, case/lang/veirs was recorded in Portland between lang's loft and Veirs's home studio. It sees release June 17 via Anti- and will be supported by a tour.
