Canyon Creep

Canyon Creep occasionally delves into cinder-block-splitting territory, vaguely reminiscent of early ’90s-era Melvins, while also featuring some thick blues inclinations. "Can’t Afford You,” "I Got the Shakes” and "Yreka” contains dense bluesy metal grooves and "No Brakes” features an abundance of low-end. On "Black Bra,” the group strays hazardously close to Kid Rock’s shallow terrain, with Southern-fried boogie-woogie metal. The EP also unfortunately features as much lyrical depth as a thimble full of iced tea. As a whole, Hijack the World features a varied and ultimately unbalanced collection of songs.
