Camera Obscura are back! The Scottish indie pop band have returned to Merge Records with promises of new music in 2024.

Camera Obscura haven't released an album in a decade; their latest remains 2013's Desire Lines. That album, as well as 2009's My Maudlin Career, came out through 4AD, while earlier albums came out through Merge.

"We're excited to be working again with Merge Records," said singer-guitarist Tracyanne Campbell. "We are looking forward to sharing new music with our fans and playing live in 2024." As of this writing, all of the band's scheduled shows are in the UK, save for a festival date in Mexico.

The band haven't released an album since the tragic death of keyboardist Carey Lander in 2015. In 2018, Campbell released an album with English artist Danny Coughlan under the name Tracyanne & Danny.
