Quebec's Martine Groulx is nearly ready to release her latest LP as Camaromance, and Exclaim! is giving you an early listen to Chasing Clouds in its entirety.
A musician, label owner, former studio owner and even Patrick Watson's former manager, Groulx has been immersed in the French-Canadian music industry for the last 20 years.
Her forthcoming full-length takes on a distinct narrative form, setting Groulx's poetry to folk sounds incorporating cello arrangements and lap steel guitars.
"This album is made to be a journey towards happiness told through stories," Groulx tells Exclaim! "Since each song is like a secret, we really wanted the vocals to be right up front, as if I was whispering right into the listener's ear. I wanted to make the kind of album that I would like to listen to while driving late at night or looking at the stars."
The LP was produced by Pierre Fortin, and it will arrive on April 6 via Simone Records.
